"The 10 Commandments of Materialistic Naturalism:"

The Pagan Fantasy World of the Darwinian Atheist

The Pagan Fantasy World of the Darwinian Atheist

I found the following quote on Intelligent Design and More. It speaks of the insanity of materialistic science: a pseudo “science” forced on our children in public schools.

The 10 Commandments of Materialistic Naturalism:

I am Mommy Nature, Who Self-Ascended from the Great Nothing, who created all that is seen and unseen (though the unseen existeth not), who affirms your randomly-generated illusion of the miniscule portion of reality you think you perceive.

Behold:

1. Thou Shalt Love Me with all thy brain synapse firings and chemical reactions (for that is what Love is)

2. Thou Shalt recognize No gods before Me

3. Thou Shalt make an idol of DNA, and shall worship thy genome as an omnipotent agent of “progress”

4. Thou Shalt refer to me as “nurturing” and “clever”, and shall attribute “purpose” to me, though I do have No mind or being

5. Thou Shalt Not attribute to thyself any rationale for rationality, for thou were formed blindly, and by accident

6. Thou Shalt live a Lie, as if concepts of Mind do have inherent meaning, and are not the chemical processes they are, for thou art matter only

7. Thou Shalt believe in Non-Existence, and shall enthusiastically embrace it upon thy Death

8. Thou Shalt cite thy Imagination as Evidence of My Work, and shall do this by drawing fancy pictures of hypothetical ape-like creatures connected by arrows

9. Thou Shalt Believe in Chance, and not refer to it as Ignorance

10. Thou Shalt Not Believe in Moral Absolutes, yet thou shalt also refer to this belief as Good

Behold, I shall send you Messiah, the Holy Scientist who will reveal all, Redeeming all believers and Condemning all Blasphemers to lobotomies!

The following is a comment in response from the author of this post:

Christians do not need science to validate their faith, there are deep philosophical and experiential reasons to believe as well as historical evidence and the testimony of their tradition. Theists can admit to the limitations of science but atheists generally need it to build an entire worldview for them. The simple fact is that we do not know much about origins and what we do know certainly is not the epistemic equivalent of the theory of gravity. Agnostics like Michael Denton, non-practicing Jews like David Berlinksi and thoughtful Christians in general can admit that we do not have the answers scientific speaking although we can and ought to use science to pursue the truth to the best of our ability. In contrast, atheists tend to need science to be the be all, end all so they generally view science itself as a method which naturally and progressively builds an atheistic view of the world.

“Did You Know?”

I encourage everyone to check out the video on this Uncommon Descent post. It’s less than five minutes long and is almost overwhelming, or at least it was for me.

I don’t draw the same conclusion from this video as Dr. Dembski. I, instead, see and hear the prophecies of God, about the end times, in this video.

It is amazing and, at the same time, frightening. See what you think.

“Naturalistic Fairy Tales”

{Idolatry comes in many forms!}

My co-author and friend, the Country Shrink, has, over the past year, written a series of satirical articles on Naturalism.

Here is a snippet from his Naturalistic Fairy Tale: XX:

“And then did we, Most High Scientists, run a computer simulation of the universe back many billions of years in time. We do know you are impressed by computer simulations (praise Science). We hope you will forget we cannot predict the weather of this planet very well more than a few days ahead. We shall, however, present our most recent simulation and we know you will be convinced, because facts are facts.

Thus, as we did run the simulation back in time, the universe did bounce. We did not find the singularity that we previously said was true, in favor of the now, possibly, real truth. Because of Loop Quantum Cosmology, did we discover that there was no singularity “before” the big bang (before time existed)…

I also encourage you to read the other nineteen fairy tales, which are listed here:

Naturalistic Fairy Tales | Intelligent Design and More.

Also, check out his co-author’s (Mynym), newest post (below), which exposes the fraudulent science that is being perpetrated on us, and our school children, by atheistic Darwinists:

Intelligent Design vs. the Imagination | Intelligent Design and More.

P.S.

As I consider all of this non-science and atheistic, naturalist philosophy, these proverbs often come to mind!

The way of a fool is right in his own eyes, But a wise man is he who listens to counsel. Proverbs 12: 15

A fool does not delight in understanding, But only in revealing his own mind. Proverbs 18: 2

Answer a fool as his folly deserves, That he not be wise in his own eyes. Proverbs 26: 5

A fool’s mouth is his ruin, And his lips are the snare of his soul. Proverbs 18: 7

Do you see a man wise in his own eyes? There is more hope for a fool than for him. Proverbs 26: 12

Does God Need Man to Prove His Existence?

Does God need mankind, whom He created, to prove His existence? Unlike the author of the article below, I don’t believe there’s any scriptural evidence that will support this belief. In fact, there is one scripture, in particular, that smacks this philosophical notion right in the face:

…because that which is known about God is evident within them; for God made it evident to them. For since the creation of the world His invisible attributes, His eternal power and divine nature, have been clearly seen, being understood through what has been made, so that they are without excuse. Romans 1: 19-20

It all comes down to whether we truly believe God is sovereign.

A god who let us prove his existence would be an idol. — Deitrich Bonhoeffer

I recently came across this quote on someone’s Facebook wall. I don’t remember whose wall, but what it said surprised me. One reply said something like “so now God’s non-existance is evidence that he exist?” presumably with as much sarcasm as possible. Well I thought that needed a response. Then a word about the role of natural theology.

Thinking afterwards I should have said Bonhoeffer was not giving an argument for God’s existence, but was making a statement from within a theistic world-view about the practice of using arguments for God’s existence. Now I think this particular statement does not bear scrutiny in the light of God’s word. But I will get to that.

Immediately I thought of Gordon Clark and Cornelius Van Til who argued that arguments for God’s existence ultimately describe a lesser being than the God revealed in the Bible. For example certain cosmological arguments arrive at a transcendent, omnipotent, immaterial, omniscient, personal God, but not an omni-benevolent or holy and righteous God. Therefore, in Clark’s view, the argument created an idol.

I think we, as believers, need to examine our motives for professing God’s existence to others. If we are trying to prove to others that God exists, then we are, in my estimation, basically wasting our time, since that isn’t what God called us to do: remember, Romans 1: 19-20. On the other hand, if we are seeking to exhibit God’s truth, love and life to others, through His Son, then we are fulfilling our purpose. This, by the way, doesn’t mean that we are the saviors of those we speak with, or that our whole reason for speaking with others should be to convert them! I believe that just as God will reveal Himself through His creation, He will also reveal Himself to others, through us, and without our proselytizing, religious techniques!

“Abundant Life”

“The most beautiful thing we can experience is the mysterious. It is the source of all true art and all science. He to whom this emotion is a stranger, who can no longer pause to wonder and stand rapt in awe, is as good as dead: his eyes are closed.” (Albert Einstein)

I have used this quote, by Einstein, in other posts, and I couldn’t help but use it in this one, too! This is the first of two posts, which were generated by a testimony that I read in the book, In Six Days: Dr. Henry Zuill, a biologist/ecologist wrote this testimonial.

I am not one to expect an affective response, from a scientist, in a piece dealing with scientific material, but Dr. Zuill surprised me. His description of nature and its beauty, which he begins his piece with, amazed me. I could hear, in his words, his sense of awe, as he pondered and described God’s creation. His description immediately brought to mind this quote by Einstein, which describes, in a short statement, what Dr. Zuill was experiencing: Dr. Zuill, is evidently capable of pausing to wonder and stand rapt in awe, he’s alive and his eyes are open!

The next post will consist of the quote from Dr. Zuill’s testimony and the site url, so that all of you can read it in its entirety.

“Abundant Life” II

Abundant life

“The verandah at “High Sycamore” (named for a large, handsome sycamore tree at the foot of the hill upon which the house stands) overlooks a wide and wooded valley stretching southwestward toward a ridge of hills seven or eight miles away. This is a remote region to which we frequently come. It generally takes several days to wind down to nature’s slower pace, but by then it is possible to see nature, really see, and listen and learn.

I was not seeing just the view of that wooded valley, however. There was another view as well. I was seeing the “view” that would become this chapter, and I was wondering how I should describe the ideas of which it was composed. As words came together, it turned out that the two views were not entirely isolated from each other. Threads of one became woven with the other until there was only one fabric.

In the view from the verandah, there are many colors and hues, varying light through the day, and under different weather conditions, highlights and shadows an ever-changing panorama. We listen to audible sounds of wind in trees, beating rain, crackling thunder and distinguishing calls of woodland creatures. One may also hear, if listening, the inner voice of the Creator teaching lessons through things He made. As a Christian ecologist, I need those times of renewal among our Creator’s works.

Those mountains and valleys humble me. A large variety of plants and animals inhabit more than a million and a half acres of surrounding mountain forestland, meadows, lakes, ponds, rivers and streams. I want to know how all of these creatures work with each other. This is a mixed hardwood and short-leaf pine forest. Trees include varieties of oaks, elms, and hickories, plus sweet gum trees and, of course, stands of short-leaf pine especially on southern exposures. Wildflowers splash brilliant colors across the landscape from spring to autumn.

Birds from buntings and bobwhites to roadrunners and turkeys abound, as do many insect species, including butterflies and grasshoppers, cicadas, bees, beetles and myriads more. Mammals include armadillos, squirrels, deer, bears and coyotes. Amphibians and reptiles are common. In the evening, I often sit by the pond and listen to the frog chorus. In the morning, little lizards sun themselves on the verandah.

There are so many species, it would be impossible to see or recognize them all. I am amazed by, but will never fully understand, what is happening between them either. However, I am happy for the little I know and I hope for additional insights. For in those hills I discover many marvelous relationships among different creatures. Is there a pattern among all of this biodiversity that can help me understand creation? Is it possible that I could know the Creator better, too?

As I sat on the verandah at “High Sycamore,” I thought about the meaning of it all. Why did God make such abundance? Why was there so much diversity, so much biodiversity? What was the meaning of it all? What does this have to do with the six days of creation?”

Perhaps, this is ultimately what God wants us to realize: when the day is done and we’ve investigated, studied, experimented and made our conclusions about us, the earth, the universe and God, we will always be left, while standing in “rapt awe,” with questions that God isn’t going to answer.

A Square Peg in a Round Hole

It seems that Pope Benedict XVI is trying, in a political way, to fit his religious square peg into the round, bottomless hole of evolution. The leader of 1.1 billion catholics, throughout the world, seems to believe, as many other “men of God,” that evolution and the Book of Genesis can somehow coexist as an explanation for creation.

VATICAN CITY (AFP) – The Vatican announced Monday it will host a conference on evolutionary theory next year coinciding with its 150th anniversary — and as creationism gains ground among fundamentalist Christians.

“There is absolutely no incompatibility between evolutionary theory and the Bible’s message,” Gianfranco Ravasi, in charge of cultural affairs at the Vatican, told reporters, noting the theory had interested Pope Benedict XVI and his recent predecessors.

Coming on the anniversary of Charles Darwin’s groundbreaking 1859 publication “On the Origin of Species,” the Vatican’s March 3-7 meeting — which will gather a variety of scientists, philosophers and Catholic and Protestant theologians — sharply contrasts with the stance of creationists.

There are a few scriptures that speak to this sort of religious politicizing: “How can two walk the same path unless they be in agreement?” and “What have light and darkness in common?” A true believer in the naturalist philosophy will never be in agreement with a believer in God and creation. These two diametrically opposed philosophies are as far apart as our solar system is from the edge of the universe, and no pope or politician is capable of closing this gap!

There is the truth and there is the lie, or, at best, the human confusion, but there can be no walking the same path for darkness and light. God, is not a respecter of man, “…for the thoughts of man are foolishness to God.”

Because that which is known of God is manifest among them, for God did manifest it to them, for the invisible things of Him from the creation of the world, by the things made being understood, are plainly seen, both His eternal power and Godhead — to their being inexcusable; because, having known God they did not glorify Him as God, nor gave thanks, but were made vain in their reasonings, and their unintelligent heart was darkened, professing to be wise, they were made fools, and changed the glory of the incorruptible God into the likeness of an image of corruptible man, and of fowls, and of quadrupeds, and of reptiles. Romans 1: 19-23

Perhaps, Benedict (coincidence?) should spend some time contemplating this scripture?
